Challenging Day?

Do you ever feel like this:     businesswoman_multi_tasking_150_clr_17885
I do.
At those times it's hard to stop and be grateful that I have a good working mind, that I have good food to eat, that I can read, that I have technology at my fingertips, that I have a job I love, that I have ideas and challenges to fill my hours.  If I stop for a minute and breathe.........in.....out.........I realize that my challenges are  blessings.  And I suddenly feel much better.  How about you?

RePurposing. Is that even a word? I do it a lot.

For more information, visit www.bereadyinc.com
Part of getting ready for any disaster is having a mindset of being able to take one thing in its present unusable form and making something new and purposeful out of it.  I've been doing that with some fabric I've got around the house.  My granddaughters LOVE to play dress up, so I've taken old tablecloths, drapes, old skirts and bits of fabric to create wonderful costumes for Christmas.
I've been looking at some rolls of canvas cloth we have at work and perusing websites that tell how to make canvas cots, duffel bags and homemade tipis.
We repurpose when we make an entirely new dish for dinner out of leftovers.
Everyone has "stuff" that could be repurposed for something.  Be creative.  Get in the habit, because you'll need it when supplies run short.

Emergency Blankets used to help victims of Paris terrorist attack

Rescuers were prepared!  As I watched the horrifying event of the Paris terrorist attack last week, my eye was drawn to the people being evacuated from the devastated theater.  Many evacuees coming out of the building and getting on the rescue buses were wrapped in emergency blankets.  This helps them not only to stay warm, but also helped fight against shock.  This is a shout out to whichever department came READY!

Computer and Phone Access in a Crisis

A customer asked me today how to keep his computer and his phone running if the power goes out for an extended period of time.  I pointed him to the Aspect Solar 300 as a good remedy.  If you have the same question, you might want to check it out.  Visit our website at www.bereadyinc.com.

Emergency Blankets in Orange, Green and Silver--Why the different colors?

We have three different styles of emergency blankets.  The olive drab emergency blanket and the fluorescent orange emergency blankets were originally designed for the military.   The olive drab military blanket is for when you do not want to be seen, and the fluorescent orange is for when you do need and want to be found.  The reverse side on both is silver.  The silver mylar emergency blanket was designed by NASA and is also called a space blanket or pocket emergency blanket.  It is silver on both sides.  Research will demonstrate to you that everyone who uses these blankets has found a dozen ways or more to use them for everything from keeping warm, to first aid, to collecting water, warming food to whatever their imaginations helped them create. This is a product line that has many many uses, especially for the disaster preparedness market.

"Made in the USA"

Be Ready proudly promotes and produces products made in the USA.  To us, this represents a quality of products and a supportive mindset toward the workers in our nation.  While we do not wish to offend any of my blog readers from many other countries, we are appreciative of America and the fine resources she has in laborers, designers and manufacturers.  So along with our new logo, you will see Made in the USA on our branded products.

What disasters are you most concerned about right now?

Earth Americas Blue Shiny - PowerPoint ClipartMany different disaster scenarios are on our minds lately.  Some of our customers are worried about the radioactive waste from Japan in our food/air/water.  Some are concerned about the dead fish washing ashore in various harbors and wonder about earthquakes, storms and droughts.  Others are mentioning the ecomony, world markets, the health care problems, floods................the list goes on.    It will not be long before a chain reaction begins that will launch us into chaos.  Be READY!!!!!  Whatever is motivating you now, make the effort to do something about it while you still can.
